We grow all of our own flowers right here on our farmette. I start seeds in February and baby them during the last few months of winter’s grip, before planting them out in April and May. I then weed, provide support, water, and nutrients to make sure they grown into beautiful flowers to go home with you.

Healthier flowers for you. I don’t use pesticides, herbicides, or anything that ends in “-cides”. I am a chemical free farm. I release beneficial insects to help control the bad bugs, and work hard on overall soil health. When you purchase “cheap” flowers from big box stores, you are purchasing flowers that have traveled half way around the world. They have been picked 2 weeks before they even get to you and have been heavily sprayed with chemicals to preserve their appearance. Sounds just like something I would want to bring into my home.

Economically it’s better for our local community, and the US. The fresh flower industry is estimated at 36.4 billion dollars in 2022, with 80% of those flowers being IMPORTED. Could you imagine the impact we could have on the United States if we refused to buy imported flowers? Or if you purchased locally grown flowers instead? The beneficial ripple effect you would have not only on our local community, but also our country. Not to mention the global pollution that is taking place just to get fresh flowers imported in to our country. These flowers are being flown in on cargo planes that are temperature controlled. Then once they arrive to the States, majority of flowers are imported into Miami, the far south east corner of our country. Making it a long ways to distribute these flowers across the US.
